About Me
I have always had a fascination with the human body and a desire to be of service. After obtaining my Bachelor's degree in theater and dance at UCSD I stumbled upon massage therapy and became a licensed massage therapist in 2004. A desire to understand and treat the body on a deeper level led me to the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine where I graduated with a Masters in Traditional Oriental Medicine in 2013 and became a licensed acupuncturist soon thereafter. Guided by curiosity and compassion, I see myself as a collaborator in my patients’ health and well-being. My needling style is gentle and I make a point to incorporate massage into every session.

Acupuncture
Traditional East Asian Medicine is based on a concept that the body is capable of healing itself when it's systems are balanced and nourished. Acupuncture employs thin needles to stimulate specific points on the body along pathways known as meridians. The major meridians are associated with internal organs so by utilizing them we can treat local issues along the meridian (ie. shoulder pain) and issues affecting the internal organs (ie. constipation.)

Testimonials
Amber is your choice if you are looking for someone to address your pain/health needs as a whole person. She takes health insurance and is "determined" to heal you! I had chronic hip and shoulder pain, in addition to other systemic issues and Amber's approach is not only to take and implement the best -updated practices, but also incorporate your physicians, PT, home remedies.... in addition, I was so glad this is not a practitioner that will try to sell you something... I got some herbs to help my hot flashes and not only did they work but she was very diligent to listen to my feedback and adjust accordingly. I had been going for acupuncture now for about eight years (after reviewing all the peer reviewed publications) and I believe Amber's approach is wholistic, compassionate, and using best updated approaches. I can't speak highly enough about my experiences for addressing chronic pain and systemic issues for women that I have received from Amber.

Wow, Amber is a true healer. I almost don't want to post this so her schedule doesn't fill up crazily ..but that would be honestly so selfish and such a disservice to anyone seeking acupuncture in the Yelp community. :) She is extremely knowledgeable and genuinely so kind. She makes you feel comfortable with her practice and is willing to explore all options to help alleviate discomfort. It took me only a couple of visits before I felt like I had known her for years. I've had significant improvement with chronic struggles -- everything from insomnia to shoulder pain. Thank you, Amber, for everything.

I've been to several different practitioners before, about 4 different ones in the past couple years. I'll have to say that Amber is the most gentle and soothing practitioner I have experienced. What I mean by that is her style isn't jarring. Usually the techniques I'm used to for acupuncture was to get the needle deep enough to illicit some sort of involuntary response, usually a muscle twitch. I used to get nervous with previous practitioners because I wouldn't want to accidentally kick or hit them! I've done it before. It was embarrassing.
I went in with anxiety issues and shoulder pain, completely new to this place. She was thorough with my evaluation and used several treatment modalities to help ease my tension, including acupuncture, moxa, and massage. After one session I have double the range of motion in my shoulder. No joke!
